Congratulations to Phil Gomersall, larger than life President of the National Allotment Society and Publicity Officer of Leeds & District Allotment Gardeners Federation.
Phil has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to Horticulture in Yorkshire in the Queens’s Birthday Honours list which was released earlier today.
Phil said ‘I’m over the moon I really am. I’ve kept this a secret for the last six weeks and resisted the temptation to tell anyone, including the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall when I met them last week.’
