A massive thank you to all those who gave up their time over the weekend to toil through the heat of the weekend.
Particular thanks to Wayne, our Projects Manager, who co-ordinated the work schedule which allowed us to complete the jobs required to improve the allotment site.
We achieved so much and had fun doing it (I think).
To those of you who couldn’t join us there’s always going to be a next time.
Something we all can do to maintain the environment is perhaps an hour of our week to strim around our plots where the mowers can’t reach and keep the pathways clear of stones (which damage the mowers) and keep to our 12.5m X 10m boundaries (thus keeping the pathways around our plots to 1.5m).
Plot inspections

The threatened plot inspections also took place over the weekend and overall the standards were adjudged to be good to high.
To those few who are falling below the required standard, we would recommend that they have a look around the field and see what others are doing and make the effort to come up to par.
Those plot holders who need to take serious action will be receiving formal emails, while some less serious offenders will get informal chats.
The aim is to improve standards by encouragement, but it is unfair to deny people waiting for plots when some are being grossly under cultivated and some severely neglected.
