Many thanks to all those members who gave up part, or all, of their weekend to help with digging the drainage channels on September 29th and 30th.
It was extremely hard work and I expect there were quite a few aching backs and sore limbs afterwards.
The work to install ‘French Drains’ was almost completed when we ran out of membrane so there remains a bit still to do.
However the three main drains are now installed and it is hoped that this will do much to solve the waterlogging problems.
Thanks go to everyone who attended, but special thanks go to Project Manager, Wayne , who toiled manfully to control a trenching machine that had a mind of its own and resembled a bucking bronco at times.
It certainly made the digging much simpler than by hand and turned up industrial quantities of stone and boulders.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the barbecue and the exercise also served to be a great bonding session.
Well done everyone.
Great deal achieved and although hard work was also good fun and the burger wasn’t bad either.
