Eat, drink and be merry

Our first Social Evening was held at Moortown Social Club on Thursday March 7th and turned out to be a hugely enjoyable occasion.

Over 40 members turned up and for the miserly sum of just £3.50 enjoyed an excellent buffet and took part in a quiz that would have had the Chasers scratching their heads.

Thanks to Diana Hector for her engaging and informative talk on the history of allotments and for those who donated prizes for the raffle.

As enjoyable as all that was, the main purpose of the event was to allow members to get to know their fellow plotholders and that proved a huge success.

We are often like ships that pass in the night as we come and go, so it was a great opportunity to put names to faces.

This will almost certainly not be the last social we organise.
