Thanks to everyone who attended the recent AGM.
It was a night of frank discussion, lively debate and the sad announcement that founding father Derek Hanton is stepping down as Chairman of Alwoodley Allotment Association after nine years at the helm.
Although we have been on site for three years, it was as long ago as November 1st, 2010 that we held our first meeting and got the ball rolling.
Years of setbacks, objections and endless meetings saw some give up, some go elsewhere and some even died, but Derek combined the patience of a saint with the determination of a rotweiller to get the project over the line.
Having overseen the ongoing development of Alwoodley Allotments Derek felt it was time for change and handed the role of Chairman to Ken Mulley-Smith.
We all owe Derek a huge vote of thanks and wish him well for the future as he takes on the roles of President of the Association and Chairman of Leeds Allotment Federation.
